Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Non-surgical rhinoplasty in Marylebone and St John’s Wood, London, with Dr Toro Ogundoyin: dermal filler used to straighten a profile, lift a tip or balance asymmetry, in about 30 minutes and without surgery.
The short answer
What is a non-surgical rhinoplasty?
A non-surgical rhinoplasty, sometimes called a liquid nose job, uses dermal filler to change the shape of the nose without operating on it. It works by adding, not removing, which is the single most important thing to understand about it.
Filler placed above a dorsal bump can make a profile read straight, because the eye follows the line rather than the bump. Filler at the tip can lift a nose that drops when you smile. Filler along one side can balance a nose that deviates. What it cannot do is make a nose smaller, narrow a wide bridge or change the nostrils, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling.
Results are immediate and last around 18 months, longer than most areas, because the nose barely moves. It is also the most technically demanding area on the face: the blood supply is dense and unforgiving, which is why it belongs with a doctor who assesses you properly and can reverse the treatment.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty can help to:
Smooth a dorsal bump
Filler placed above and below a bump creates a straight line from bridge to tip. The bump is still there; the profile no longer reads it.
Lift a drooping tip
A tip that falls at rest or drops when you smile can be supported, which shortens the appearance of the nose and opens up the angle to the lip.
Straighten a nose that deviates
Subtle placement on the narrower side can make a slightly crooked nose look central from the front, which is often what people actually mean by wanting it straight.
Refine a result after surgical rhinoplasty
Small irregularities left after surgery can sometimes be smoothed with filler. This is assessed individually and only well after the surgical result has settled.
Balance the nose against the chin
Profile balance is a relationship, not a single feature. Sometimes the honest answer is that the chin, not the nose, is what is out of proportion.
Try a change before committing to surgery
Because hyaluronic acid can be dissolved, a non-surgical result is a reversible way to see whether the change you are considering is the one you actually want.

FAQ
Non-surgical rhinoplasty questions
Can a non-surgical rhinoplasty make my nose smaller?
No. Filler adds volume, so it can straighten, lift and balance, but it cannot reduce. It can make a nose look slimmer from the front by straightening the line the eye follows, which is a different thing. If reducing size is your goal, surgery is the honest answer and Dr Toro will tell you so.
How long does it last?
Around 18 months for most people, which is longer than filler in almost any other area. The nose barely moves, so the product is broken down slowly. When it fades it does so gradually, and top-up treatments are usually smaller than the first.
Is it safe?
The nose is the highest-risk area in facial injecting because the blood supply is dense and there is little room for swelling. The risk of a vascular complication is small in experienced hands but not zero. Dr Toro uses small volumes, careful technique and keeps hyaluronidase available to reverse treatment if needed.
Does it hurt, and what is the downtime?
Topical numbing is used and the filler contains anaesthetic, so most people describe pressure rather than pain. Mild swelling and tenderness last a few days. Keep glasses off the bridge for about two weeks, and avoid strenuous exercise and saunas for 24 hours.
Can I have it if I have had surgical rhinoplasty?
Sometimes, but not soon afterwards. Surgical results take a year or more to settle and scar tissue changes the anatomy, so Dr Toro assesses each case individually and will often decline. Where it is appropriate, filler can smooth small irregularities left after surgery.
