The short answer
Your first visit to Dr. Toro Aesthetics is a £90 consultation with Dr Toro Ogundoyin at UNTIL Marylebone or at the Kailash Centre in St John’s Wood. She takes a full medical history, examines the areas that bother you, and gives you an honest view of what each option would and would not achieve. You leave with a written plan, and nothing is injected until you have had time to think about it.
Why the consultation comes first
Most people who book do not arrive asking for a specific treatment. They arrive because a photograph caught them looking tired, or because a line has stopped disappearing when their face relaxes, or because their skin has changed and they cannot say exactly how. Working out what is actually producing that appearance is the job, and it cannot be done from a price list.
It is also a clinical requirement. Anti-wrinkle treatment uses a prescription-only medicine, which UK rules say can only be provided after a face-to-face consultation and a prescription. That applies equally to the medical uses, such as treating the chewing muscle for jaw clenching, hay fever, or excessive sweating. No responsible clinic provides those from a message or a phone call.
What happens in the appointment
Dr Toro starts with your history: your general health, your medications and supplements, any allergies, previous aesthetic treatments and how you responded to them, and anything that has changed recently. Some of it will feel unrelated to your face. It is not: thyroid problems, low iron, a new medication and a period of poor sleep all change how skin and hair behave, and treating the face while ignoring the cause is how money gets wasted.
Then she looks. Not just at the area you have pointed at, but at how your face is built and how it moves, because the cause of a complaint is frequently somewhere other than where you notice it. A fold from the nose to the mouth is often a cheek that has dropped. Darkness under the eye is sometimes a shadow and sometimes pigment, and the two need opposite treatments.
Finally, the honest part. She will tell you what she would do, what she would not do, and what she would leave alone. If the treatment you came in asking for is not the one that would help you, she will say so.
What you leave with
A written plan, setting out which treatments belong in it, in what order, and what each one costs. The order matters as much as the list: skin quality is often treated before anything structural, because filler and threads sit in the skin you already have, and one area frequently changes what the next one needs.
You can take that plan away. You can act on it here, act on it elsewhere, or do nothing with it. It is yours, and it is the thing you paid for.
Treatment, review, and what comes after
Treatments are carried out by Dr Toro herself at either clinic. The person who planned your face is the person who treats it, which is not true everywhere.
Afterwards you get written aftercare and a way to reach the clinic if something is worrying you. Anti-wrinkle treatment is reviewed at two weeks, once the effect has fully developed, which is the first point at which it can be judged fairly. Dermal filler is reviewed at two weeks as well, once swelling has settled. Skin and hair plans are reviewed at around three months, because collagen and hair cycles are measured in months rather than weeks.
That review is where adjustments happen, and it is built into the plan rather than sold to you afterwards.
Before you come
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and, if you bruise easily, aspirin and supplements such as vitamin E for the week before. Come with clean skin and no makeup on the areas you want looked at. Bring your medication list and your questions, and do not book anything in the week before an event that matters to you.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, say so at booking: most treatments are not offered, and the honest conversation is better had in advance.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a consultation at Dr. Toro Aesthetics?
A consultation is £90 with Dr Toro Ogundoyin, an aesthetic doctor registered with the General Medical Council. It covers a full medical history, an examination of the areas that concern you, and a written treatment and skincare plan. There is no obligation to book anything afterwards.
Can I have anti-wrinkle treatment at my first appointment?
Usually not. Anti-wrinkle treatment uses a prescription-only medicine, and UK rules require a face-to-face consultation and a prescription before it can be provided. Your first visit is where that assessment happens. Once the plan and prescription are in place, treatment is booked as a separate appointment.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, details of any previous aesthetic treatments including what was used and when, and your questions. Come with clean skin and no makeup where possible. Dr. Toro Aesthetics treats adults aged 18 and over only.
Will I be pressured into booking treatment?
No. Patients call Dr Toro "Dr. No" precisely because she will tell you when a treatment is not the one you need. You leave with a written plan you can take away, think about, or act on elsewhere. Nothing is scheduled until you have decided.
